Innosuisse Innovation

Innosuisse is the Swiss Innovation Promotion Agency. It is a federal entity under public law with a separate legal personality. Innosuisse’s role is to promote science-based innovation in the interests of industry and society in Switzerland.

Nowadays, the key to economic success is a combination of expertise, experience, research and development. Innosuisse especially promotes the partnership between academia and the market with innovation projects, networking, training and coaching, laying the groundwork for successful Swiss start-ups, products and services. It provides considerable benefits for a prosperous and sustainable economy.

Innosuisse provides support in accordance with the subsidiarity principle: it only supports projects if the innovation could not be implemented and market potential would not be tapped into without funding.

INNOSUISSE OPEN CALLS

Innosuisse provides SMEs with easy access into the world of science-based innovation funding. With its Innovation Cheque, Innosuisse funds preliminary studies, such as concept developments, preparatory work for innovation projects or analyses of technology transfer potential. The innovation cheque offers access to up to CHF 15.000 worth of R&D services from a public research partner.

Innovation Project supports science-based innovation projects carried out by companies – particularly SMEs – working with public- sector research partners. The project must meet a market need and provide economic benefits or create social value.

Innosuisse funds innovation projects by researchers who have not yet found a partner to implement the result. It particularly provides support for highly innovative yet risky projects. Innosuisse supports innovation projects without an implementation partner for a maximum of 18 months (if the project is part of the federal funding programme in the field of energy, support may be provided for up to 36 months).
