After a journey that began in June with the applications, followed by the first selection of 20 projects at the end of August and the subsequent acceleration phase that ended on November 8, the best start-up projects have been selected to compete for the prizes offered by the Boldbrain Startup Challenge 2018 at the final event on Tuesday, December 4, starting at 6:00 pm in the Aula Magna of USI (Lugano campus).

At the finals, the selected startups will compete for the 5 prizes up for grabs, trying to "sell" their product in the best possible way by presenting it to the public in the hall, in just 3 minutes and in English. The presentations will be evaluated both by the national jury and by the audience who, thanks to a special App, will be able to express their opinion and vote for their favourite startup.

The five startups deemed the best fit to continue their entrepreneurial journey will be awarded, in addition to the total prize pool of CHF 120.000, services and consulting that will help them to continue with the development of their project, as well as a scholarship offered by USI to attend the Executive MBA worth CHF 45.000. In line with the continuation of their journey, they will also be able to obtain preferential selection options for the Swiss Economic Award and MassChallenge Accelerator, two Swiss programmes that support the development of more advanced start-ups.

The Boldbrain Startup Challenge 2018 is jointly organized by the Fondazione Agire and the USI CP Start-Up, with the contribution of the Department of Finances and Economy of the Canton of Ticino and EFG bank, and with the support of Connect Switzerland, yourCFO, Andromeda Innovation, Swiss Economic Forum, digitalswitzerland and Startup INVEST.
