On May 18, the Lugano-based start-up company Skypull received a 100.000 CHF prize at the 28th W.A. de Vigier Award ceremony, held in Solothurn, Switzerland. Skypull, together with four other finalists, was selected among around 160 candidates who entered the competition this year. The W.A. de Vigier Award is the oldest and highest endowed prize for start-ups in Switzerland; in 28 years the W.A. de Vigier Foundation has distributed over CHF 10 million of seed money to the most promising start-up companies set up by young Swiss-based entrepreneurs.

Skypull was a finalist at the StartCup Ticino 2016 competition, ranking third with its innovative lightweight and compact wind-based electricity generation system that can generate renewable power twice as efficiently as conventional wind turbines. Skypull is currently incubated at the USI SUPSI Start-Up Promotion Center (CP Start-Up).
