Institutional Communication Service
2 September 2022
20 teams selected from 128 applications received for the 2022 edition of the Ticino acceleration programme were announced yesterday during the kick-off event held at USI
An expert jury selected the participating projects based on various criteria: the potential economic impact on the region, the scalability of the idea, the level of innovation, the business model and the team. At the kick-off event at the Auditorium of USI Università della Svizzera italiana each team had three minutes to present their project for the first time. This was their Boldbrain starting point. Now 20 entrepreneurs and their teams have three months of intense work ahead of them. Thanks to a structured programme made of thematic workshops, the teams will be able to boost their project and improve their skills. Experienced coaches will support and guide them on this challenging journey.
Only 10 startups will make it to the final phase and have an opportunity to compete for cash prizes totalling CHF120,000 and many other in-kind prizes and services worth over CHF80,000. The winners will be announced at the Final Award Ceremony scheduled for December 13 at Palazzo dei Congressi in Lugano.

The 2022 participants represent a wide range of industry sectors and have different maturity levels. Among the selected startups, seven have a prototype, three are already on the market, and six are incorporated companies.
