Institutional Communication Service

6 June 2023

Until 16 June, applications are open for the three-month acceleration programme for early-stage startups organised by Fondazione Agire in close collaboration with USI Startup Centre. The total value of cash prizes amounts to CHF 120,000, in addition to CHF 80,000 in in-kind prizes, including a full scholarship for the USI Executive MBA worth CHF 54,000.

It is the 6th edition of the programme that is aimed at early-stage startups. In the past five years, Boldbrain Startup Challenge received more than 500 applications, accelerated 100 startups and awarded close to CHF 1 million in cash and in-kind prizes. 50% of the programme alumni have incorporated a company in Ticino, and 25% have been or are currently incubated at USI Startup Centre.

Boldbrain Startup Challenge is sector-agnostic and open to teams of at least two people who want to develop their innovative idea into a scalable business starting from Ticino. All interested candidates are invited to attend the information session happening on May 11th at the Hotel Dante in Lugano.

The accelerator is a programme of Fondazione Agire, organised in close collaboration with the USI Startup Centre and a network of competent partners. Thanks to the financial support of the Economics Division of the Department of Finance and Economy (DFE) of the Canton of Ticino, BancaStato and other sponsors, the cash prizes amount to CHF 120,000 complemented by in-kind prizes for a total value of CHF 80,000. In 2023, the programme will be enhanced by the support of new major partners and a networking event to foster connections between competing teams and companies and institutions.

The 2023 edition of Boldbrain Startup Challenge will take place between September and November and conclude with the final award ceremony, scheduled for December 7th, at the Palazzo dei Congressi in Lugano. The official programme language is English.
