Swissponic

Vegetables we use for our daily meals have travelled hundreds, if not thousands, of kilometres. This long supply chain significantly increases CO₂ emissions and air pollution, and often involves the use of intensive pesticides that harm the soil. Swissponic has developed an urban farming system that allows growing healthy vegetables without any horticultural skills, in a small space, and no soil. The system comprises a hydroponic structure, a control box with embedded software, and a cloud connection, allowing for the management of cultures from anywhere at any time. Everyone can grow their healthy food directly at home, helping to lower the impact of pollution and chemical overuse. The technology is also scalable for use by professional growers in greenhouses and vertical farms.
