Problem

Architects, engineers, and developers have great difficulties in creating healthy and sustainable cities. They face growing requirements to increase the quality and comfort of living spaces while decreasing emissions, energy consumption, and costs. Matching these contradictory constraints with environmental resources related to sun, views, noise, and wind, is a very difficult task. 

Solution

UrbanMetrix is a 3D site-analysis software that allows inverting the design-process of urban architecture by starting it from local environmental resources. Our USP is based on a volumetric approach backed by a set of innovative filtering, combination, and transformation features that allow to address with new means one the biggest challenges of our time: the design of healthy and sustainable cities.

 

Core technology

This project is characterised by a deep-tech development and integration of methods from the disciplines of environmental analysis, 3D graphics, energy systems, and performance engineering. The tool allows the processing of large-scale/high-resolution 3D geodata, fast numerical simulation via cloud-computing, and the real-time generation of 3D solutions that pre-empt environmental performance.
